Steve Bass is Chairman and CEO of Washington Publishing Company (WPC), named in the HIPAA Transaction and Code Set Regulation as publisher and distributor of the X12N implementation guides. Prior to founding WPC, Bass was Documentation Director for EDI, Inc., a pioneering producer of EDI translation software. He has been Art Director of a diverse group of trade and general interest publications, including New England Farmer and The Caledonia Independent. Bass is from the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, and has a BA from the Institute for Urban Studies at the University of Maryland.
Lisa Miller is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Washington Publishing Company (WPC), a Maryland-based firm. Lisa joined WPC in 1999 as Director of Information Technology. She serves as co-chair of the American National Standards Institute, Accredited Standards Committee X12N, Task Group 3, Work Group 4, Object Oriented Modeling and XML Liaison and has over 10 years experience in the IT industry. Before joining WPC, Lisa co-founded one of the first ISP’s in the State of Maryland in 1995 and developed medical applications in both public and private health care sectors including the Department of Defense TRICARE. She began her professional career in the field of nursing, specializing in the areas of critical and emergency services. She attended Bloomsburg State College and graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1983, Summa Cum Laude.
Bryan Nylin is a BizTalk Group Program Manager at Microsoft, a co-founder of the BizTalk Server development team in 1998. In addition to helping create key enterprise and B2B integration technologies, he has pioneered the efforts to create .NET Enterprise Server solutions for vertical markets, including the work related to Healthcare. Before joining Microsoft in October 1995, Bryan owned and operated his own network consulting firm in Seattle, WA. He also previously led software development efforts for the Government of Bermuda and The Boeing Company. Bryan was awarded both a B.A. in Accounting and a B.S. in Business Economics from Central Washington University in 1982.
