The Microsoft IT Academy Student Pass is a special no-cost online learning opportunity for university students in technical studies. IT Academy Student Pass provides free e-learning courses to verified university students who are interested in extending their IT or developer skills with Microsoft technologies.

The IT Academy Student Pass offers 12 to 22 hours of FREE e-learning courses, aligned to the first set of topics you need to master for the first Microsoft certification exam within the track. Each track is unique, and most will require you to take additional e-learning courses to complete all of the topics you need to succeed on the certification exam.

The goal of the IT Academy Student Pass is to give you a head start by providing hours and hours of rich, award-winning e-learning content that sets the stage for the learning to come.

The IT Academy Student Pass will be available initially in English, but additional languages are being considered for future releases.

IT Academy Student Pass is designed for university students and faculty whose institutions do not specifically offer courses on Microsoft applications, developer tools, or operating systems, but who have an interest in increasing their IT and developer skills with Microsoft technologies. IT Academy Student Pass exposes a subset of Microsoft IT Academy’s rich offerings directly to individual students and faculty worldwide.

With progression through the IT Academy Student Pass curriculum, students are able to deepen their technical knowledge while also working towards their first certification exam. This enables students to explore both the learning materials and their technology interests at no cost.

The Microsoft IT Academy Program is available by annual subscription to universities, colleges, and high schools for students working toward Microsoft certifications or higher-level IT careers.

Microsoft IT Academy benefits include faculty training, classroom and online curriculum, courseware, certification-exam discounts, textbooks, ILT curriculum, and access to Microsoft professional resources such as MSDNAA and TechNet.

How to obtain an ITA Student Pass access code

Students obtain an access code through MSDNAA at their institution. To find out if your institution has MSDNAA, please contact your faculty or your institution system administrator. If you have MSDNAA at your institution, go to your MSDNAA site and find the IT Academy Student Pass program listing.

Work with your faculty and department administrators to determine if your institution currently has an MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) subscription. If your institution has MSDNAA, you will be able to obtain the IT Academy Student Pass access code at the MSDNAA site.

This department level subscription provides all Microsoft software (excluding Microsoft Office) to all faculty and students studying within the department for academic and research purposes.
