Use your digital photos in address labelsPublished: January 18, 2006 A quick and easy way to personalize cards and other personal notes you send in the mail is to create and use personal return address labels. Though you can buy them in a variety of places, you can also quickly create address labels on your own by using Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006. If you want, you can even include your own digital photos on your address labels. This can be a good way to personalize cards, letters, and invitations, as well as help prevent you from needing to constantly write your return address on envelopes. This article will describe how to create your own address labels. 
Here's what you'll need: | • | Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 | | • | Digital photos | | • | Sheets of blank address labels | | • | Printer |
To create address labels 1. | In Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 Editor, on the File menu, click Create a Project. 
| 2. | Click Labels/Stickers. | 3. | In the Themes box, click Address Labels, click an address label design in the right pane, and then click Open in the task pane on the left. 
| 4. | To include your own picture in your address label, in the task pane, click Open a picture. 
| 5. | In the File Browser dialog box, locate the digital photo that you want to use, select it, and then click OK. You can find and select pictures on your computer by clicking the All Files tab, or you can find and select photos in your Digital Image Library by clicking the Digital Image Library tab. | 6. | If you want, you can move or resize the photo (by dragging one of the corner squares of the selection) as necessary, and then click Done. | 7. | Click on the text box, and then select the text. Type the name and address that you want to appear on your address labels. 
| 8. | To change the font, with the text selected, on the Text menu, click Font. On the Font tab, select a different font, font style, size, and color if you want. | 9. | To save the changes to your address labels, on the File menu, click Save. In the File name box, type a file name, and then click Save. |
 Printing your address labelsAfter you create and save your address labels, you can then print your address labels on address label sheets. Before you print your labels on the address label sheet, you might want to print a test copy of the labels on plain paper. To print address labels 1. | On the File menu, click Print. | 2. | In the task pane on the left, do the following, and then click Next. | • | Under Select a printer, choose the printer that you want to use to print your labels. | | • | Under Select a layout, click Category, and then choose the category. Most likely, you will want to choose Address Labels. 
| | • | In the right pane, click the label style number that matches the number for your labels, and then click Next. The label style number is often written on the address label packaging or on the individual label sheets. |
| 3. | In the task pane, under Fit the selected picture to the area, click Scale to fit. | 4. | When prompted, click the address label in the Files palette. | 5. | In the task pane, click Fill with the selected picture, and then click Next. 
| 6. | In the task pane under How many copies do you want?, enter the number of copies that you want to print. 
| 7. | If you want to save the label layout so that you can open it later and print additional copies, select Keep this file opened in the Files palette so I can save it. | 8. | Click Print. Follow the steps in the Printer Test dialog box to print your labels. This walks you through the process of printing your labels, and helps you to identify how the label sheet needs to be inserted for your specific printer. | 9. | After your labels have been successfully printed, click Done. |
